It’s that time of the year again. Yup, January definitely breezed by as usual, making way for one of the most “romantic” days of the year – Valentines Day. While several people, especially couples who have defined their relationships, normally look forward for this special day, many people also dread it because of the pressure and stigma that come with the holiday. Some, meanwhile, spend Valentines Day with friends and family. Additionally, valentines Day is not just the popular subject of many romantic comedy films, it has also emerged as a medium of empowerment for women these past few years. Women, in particular, have established their ownership of the day by celebrating it with girl friends, coining the term “Galentines Day.” So, this year, whether you are going out for the typical Valentines date night with your significant other or spending it with friends, here are some Valentines outfit ideas that are fun, flirty, and most importantly, confidence-boosting!
Last week, I published this reel on my Instagram showcasing a handful of Valentines date outfit inspos to give you some idea of what you can wear. Of course, I decided to play with the usual Valentines day shades of red and pink. Let’s take a look at each of the outfits. Note that all of these pieces were already part of my wardrobe for years. Remember that you don’t have to purchase new items to look good during the rare times we go out nowadays.
Throughout my 25 years of existence, I have never had a year that has ever been as notorious as 2020. While we welcomed a new decade full of hope and fresh aspirations, it was not long until the year showed its true colors. It was a year of multiple losses in more ways than one, mine even more forgivable than others’. In general, it was the year of one of the worst pandemics that had ever ambushed earth – and ambushed it did. However, more specifically, it was a year of death to hundreds of thousands around the world, a year of vast unemployment and poverty, a year of mother nature unleashing her wrath, a year of institutional violence, and a year of breaking free from political blindfolds. It was one of the years where every single day felt like a battle. But along with the battles came the little triumphs.
Answer honestly: do you think that wearing a single-color outfit is boring? If you answered yes, then I believe it is time to change your mind. Not only are monochromatic outfits easy, simple, and gorgeous, I personally find them very form-flattering. Plus, when is a better time to play around with single-hue layers than during the winter? So, if you’ve always wanted to try wearing a one-color outfit but you are worried that you might not pull it off, then this is your lucky day. I’ll provide some tips on how to achieve that balance between plain and striking. I’ll also provide some examples of monochromatic winter outfits that you can rock!
2020 has been such a long year, but it is almost over! I know that I am not the only one who has had such a difficult year. However, despite everything we faced and experienced this year, I think that it is still worth it to celebrate the small blessings. So, even though we will be celebrating the holiday season a little differently than the past few years, don’t you think it is worth the effort to get out of our sweats and wear something a little cuter? You do not even have to be too extra with your ‘fits! After all, we are just going to sit in the living room. So, if you feel a little lazy, but still want to look cute, here are some fun and comfy Holiday OOTD ideas.
Heyy! I know it has been a LONG while since I last wrote on my blog. With completing my final project for grad school, the corporate world’s usual Q4 hustle and bustle, and many other personal reasons, I have not really had a lot of time to sit down and think recently – much less write. Anyway, I’m back now and just in time for the Holidays and ready to give suggestions for some eco-friendly gifts! Whoohoo!
Growing up in the tropical archipelago, you already know I am not much of a winter person. However, I have always loved the Holidays, the coziness, the sentiments, the celebration in many religions, and just the overall sense of gratitude for another fruitful year. Granted, it has not been an easy year for most of us because of the pandemic, natural calamities, and economic downturn, among others. I, personally, have had a tough year. In fact, I am not even sure if I would get to celebrate Christmas with my family and loved ones who are mostly in healthcare.
Okay, self-pity aside (LOL), regardless of whether we get to be with our loved ones physically, I think that we can still send them our love and well-wishes through presents if we are financially able to. So, while I was doing some Holiday shopping this past weekend, I thought of sharing with you some affordable eco-friendly gifts that our family and friends will surely love and find useful. And oh, by the way, I am not paid to write about these products or brands. I have tried most of these products or bought them as presents myself.
